Common hearing aid issues we support
Most hearing aid faults can be resolved quickly in our clinic with professional cleaning, minor part replacements, or minor adjustments. Regular maintenance is designed to extend the life of your investment and keep your hearing experience clear and comfortable.
We provide a comprehensive range of professional servicing, including:
Replacing Wax filters and guards
Blocked filters are the single most common cause of weak or lost sound. We quickly replace these to restore full clarity.
Changing Microphone Covers
Dust and debris can build up on microphone covers over time, muffling sound. We replace them to keep your devices crisp and clear.
Generic Re-Tubing
For behind-the-ear devices, the acoustic tubing can harden, yellow, or split. We can replace generic tubing to keep your sound clean and your fit secure.
Replacing Receiver Wires
If your receiver wire becomes weak, intermittent, or physically damaged, we can fit a fresh, high-quality replacement.
Professional Clinical Cleaning
We use specialised suction and cleaning equipment to safely extract deep-set wax and debris, protecting the delicate internal electronics of your aids.
Battery and Charging Faults
We diagnose and resolve issues with both traditional disposable battery contacts and modern rechargeable charging docks.
Reprogramming and Fine-Tuning
If your hearing has changed or your environments sound different, we can adjust your acoustic settings to match your current needs.
Smartphone App Support
We help troubleshoot pairing issues with your mobile phone or tablet, ensuring you feel confident controlling your settings.

FAQs
Yes, we can repair and service hearing aids purchased from other providers, depending on the age of the devices and their warranty status.
If you would like ongoing local care, we also offer a dedicated service to “adopt” your existing hearing aids. This comprehensive package includes a full hearing assessment, professional cleaning, a clinical service check, and reprogramming the devices to your current hearing prescription, provided they are still suitable for your needs.
Yes, we provide temporary “loaner” hearing aids to keep you connected, but this service is strictly reserved for our existing clients and those whose care we have officially adopted.
We cannot safely configure or program loaner hearing aids without having your up-to-date hearing assessment data on our clinical system. This protocol ensures that any temporary device is set perfectly and safely for your ears.
We do not provide NHS repairs, but we can offer a generic re-tubing service for standard behind-the-ear NHS devices if we have the correct parts in stock.
Standard acoustic tubing is less common on private digital hearing aids, meaning our stock of specific NHS-compatible tubing styles can vary. Please note that we cannot replace or repair NHS custom moulds or custom ear tips. If a part breaks during a generic re-tubing attempt, we are unable to replace the NHS device, so we always recommend contacting your local NHS audiology department first.
Our standard fee is £40 for our professional diagnostic time and on-site labour, with any replacement parts or manufacturer lab fees charged additionally.
If your devices are still covered under their original manufacturer warranty, certain replacement parts may be covered at no extra charge. We will always discuss potential costs with you transparently before carrying out any work.
No, we do not offer a national postal repair service because we believe in personalised, in-person clinical care.
To safely and comfortably refit your repaired hearing aids, we must physically check your ears, measure your ear canals, and verify the acoustic fit in person. We invite all clients to visit our welcoming clinic in Hertford for safe, professional care.
